Type A-2: Rough Wear 42-1401-P
This jacket is a reproduction of a Rough Wear (history),
of their 42-1401-P contract. Jackets of this contract are often made with russet brown aniline horsehide, though a minute
number of seal examples have been seen. This was Rough Wear's
third A-2 contract, made just after their W535-ac-18091 contract.
The fit of this Rough Wear is typical of other Rough Wear contracts, though some small details are often different than
earlier contracts, which are listed below. Here is a wonderful comparison between the original we copied and our 1401-P.
Jackets of this contract were made with Crown zippers. We have a limited number of original Crown zippers and can
offer them priced according to what we paid for them from our sources.

- usually russet or light russet brown aniline horsehide
- comfortable torso
- collar stand
- slightly shorter pocket flaps than earlier RWs
- dull orange lining
- dark or mid-brown cotton thread
- ball stud snaps
- mid-brown knits
- originals had Crown zippers
This jacket is quite comfortable and looks athletic and sharp.
