Type A-2: Rough Wear W535-ac-18091
This Type A-2 jacket is based on Rough Wear's W535-ac-18091 goatskin A-2 contract, which dates most likely to 1941. The contract
appears to have been rather large, as many of these can be found through different venues. Rough Wear had a beautiful pattern, and
our 18091 pattern is based on two originals. We were able to take apart one of them and trace the pieces, to ensure that every
nuance of how the 18091s were built could be copied, from the shape of each part to how the edges are cut an folded.
Details of this contract:
- russet goatskin
- collar stand
- easy fitting torso and somewhat tight shoulders
- dull orange lining and usually dark brown thread color
- ball stud snaps, small in collar, larger in pockets
- mid-brown knits
- straight Talon zippers
This jacket has a classic and commonly seen WWII design.
