Home | USAAF/USAF Jackets | L-2
Introduced in 1945, the L-2 jackets were a replacement for the A-2, being a Light Zone garment. The
jackets were made with a nylon shell and a thin nylon interior. The shell color is a strong OD green, as is the lining.
The jacket looks smart with the epaulettes and pocket flaps, and the waist tab is quite interesting, as it's the only
jacket design to have such. Unlike later jackets, the snaps were painted green. The oxygen hose tab is made of leather,
which is common to other USAAF jackets of this period. The L-2A resulted from this jacket design. |
