About This Jacket:

This is an extremely rare flight jacket. The L-2 series appears to have been made in somewhat small numbers. These date to around 1945-1949, and are made in a strong OD green color. The outer shell is nylon, as is the lining, but the lining is a different shade and weave. The jacket has a leather oxygen hose tab, where later jackets had a synthetic version. The snaps, of great interest to me, are by Scovill - their zippers first show up on flight jackets around 1968, but these original snaps date to over 20 years before that time. The jacket was refurbished by the owner, with new cuffs, main zipper, and oxygen hose tab being applied.
