About This Jacket:
Werber Sportswear was a company which made many jackets for the Army Air Corps and Forces before and
during WWII. They may have been related to Aero Leather, which I have heard. They didn't do any jackets for the Air Force after WWII, but had
this one G-1 contract in the 1950's. This Werber is the same contract as the size 44 on this site, but it's missing the label. The
condition is well worn, but all the elements are original. The leather is quite nice, the zipper great, the mouton still strong, and the
knits have holes but are keepable. The jacket is quite large for a 40, only about 1/2 to 1 inch shorter in dimension than the size 44
on this site. This jacket also has a Canadian made Talon, which only Werber seems to have used. The jacket was owned by a
smoker, so there's a strong odor that may not be removable. Note that the USN on the back of the collar was rubbed off.
