About This Jacket:

Star Sportswear, of Lynn, MA made A-2 jackets in WWII. They no longer worked for the Air Force, but instead had numerous contracts with the Navy, starting with the 55J14 G-1. This jacket is a very well worn earlier number of two Star 55J14 contract G-1s. The jacket has soft and most likely vegetable tanned leather. The color is seal brown which has faded in several areas to a russet color. The lining is almost perfect, and the mouton is quite worn. The jacket has relatively short sleeves, as a number of WWII jackets and an early Star G-1 I've had does. The waistband has held up well, but not the cuffs.
