About This Jacket:
This jacket is most likely a commercial version of the G-1. Flying Equipment Co. had one
USN contract for the G-1, but this one has a bogus contract number that doesn't relate to how the Navy issued contracts. Most likely
it was sold commercially or maybe through the PX, and with the stitch marks of a name tag and two patches on the shoulders, it was
also probably used by someone in the Navy. The materials are all identical to 1950s USN jackets, and the design is basically that of a
55J14 (note the smaller back panel). The painted USN is unusual, in that I've never see such on a jacket from this maker. The collar mouton was replaced, as were
the cuffs. The size tag is missing, but its dimensions are that of a size 42.
