About This Jacket:
Cagleco Sportswear made a large number of Navy flight jackets in the 1950's, and they were based in
Cape Girardeau, MO. They had six known contracts for the G-1 jacket. The company changed it's name around 1958 to Ralph Edwards, which
continued production of G-1 jackets through 1984. This Cagleco G-1 is a great example, in excellent, almost unused condition. The goatskin is dark
brown, and chrome tanned. It has nice shine, and definitely smells of old tanning methods. The knits had some mothing which was
easily repaired. The mouton is a fantastic super-thick and straight style, and even darker than the goatskin. This is about the highest
quality mouton I've ever seen, though I like a lighter color. The zipper is an unpainted nickel plated Conmar.
