About This Jacket:

This is a winter weight parka used by Air Force crewmen. The jacket is in very good condition, though it needs a cleaning. The shoulder stencil is still quite strong, for 40 years of existence. The jacket is quite heavy and would easily keep someone warm under very cold conditions. The hood oddly has a support piece inside that forms the shape of a helmet, which I've not seen before. Southern Athletic made many of these in the early 1960's.
