The L-2B series of jackets are slightly different from the L-2A in materials, but the color is the first detail to note. At this point the Air Force phased in the color sage green to their flight clothing. The overall design is quite similar to the L-2A, but the lining is now of a thicker and softer material. The lining color could often be quite different than the shell color thought it was most likely assumed that they should be the same. This series has the most radical changes from the first contracts to the late 1970's versions. This is also the first series to use words rather than numbers for the size designation.
