About This Jacket:
This reproduction B-3 is what Avirex calls their Museum Quality version. The jacket really
looks like a vintage redskin B-3, and is loosely based on Rough Wear's pre-WWII W535-ac-17756 B-3. The sheepskin panels are of the
newer type, with three pieces for the back and a strip under the arms between the front and back pieces. The sheepskin has fantastic
texture. The size of the jacket is like a typical original 44, with excellent proportions of body, sleeve, and collar. The trim is horsehide,
and shows wear rather easily. The belts are very thick horsehide and tanned a medium russet color. I applied shoulder tabs and trimmed
the sheepskin on the cuffs and wind flap to match originals. I'm also in the process of applying an NOS WWII Talon zipper. |
