About This Jacket:
This jacket is an Eastman reproduction of one Cable Raincoat Co. A-2. This contract was made with
both goatskin and horsehide, and this repro is of horsehide, which is heavy and semi-aniline finished. I don't have an original to compare this to,
but this jacket does emulate Cable's later contract 42-10008-P a bit more in details, like the pocket shape, epaulette stitching, collar, and long
arms in relation to the body (though this may be a Long model). The earlier 23382 contract was a little different in some regards. The fit of the
jacket is like a 44 in length, but it's got a tight body, and the shoulders square up like originals do. The leather has very accurate color, but is a
bit thick and stiff. The collar has a little more point at the tips than most Cables, but still looks good overall. The jacket has a rare Kwik
reproduction in stable condition: they were breaking enough that Eastman stopped using them. The knits have gotten wet and shrunk a bit at
some point, but even originals do that, just not as bunched usually.
