About This Jacket:

This A-2 jacket is a Buzz Rickson 2005 Rough Wear in Bronco Hide, a version of horsehide that's got heavily textured character. The jacket is a size 44, the largest they make, and it fits quite well on me at 6'1". The fit of the jacket is very close to a Rough Wear in that it has the right shoulder shape and isn't exaggerated by having wide shoulders. The sleeves are just right and have an excellent taper, where some other Rickson jackets can have large sleeve ends. The pocket shape is also fantastic as a copy of Rough Wear's design. The lining is a little more yellow than the common reddish shade that Rough Wear used. The thread has a nice contrasting tan shade to the dark leather. The snaps are reinforced under the leather with a small leather square, a detail that most repro makers don't carefully copy. The knits are of excellent weave, but are also a little on the thick and very tight side which is different than Rough Wears. In my estimation, this jacket and it's correct details are woth the $1,065 that it cost new.
