About This Jacket:

This jacket is an Aero reproduction of the Aero 1938 contract A-2. The jacket has a number of details that would only be seen on this version. Made with russet 'Jerky' horsehide, the jacket has a second set of stitching in the leather along the cuffs and waistband. The collar has a stand, and the throat latch is sewn tightly into the stand end, unlike the later models which were riveted in. The zipper has a special leather support piece under the inside stitching. For a size 50 by Aero, it fits like a true size 50, and it's a little long for me overall, but I like the fit. Note that the leather has a tan base, with a top coat of russet, which wears off with time on the areas which are exposed. The leather is just right - not too thick or thin, and it has a good amount of character. The epaulettes are a bit longer than usual. The collar has worked itself into a shape commonly seen on originals, with the wind flap side straight, and the other side bending outward.
