About This Jacket:
This jacket is a heavily re-built Rough Wear 18091 contract A-2. The jacket was originally russet
and made of goatskin. It appears that the USAAF had it re-lined at a depot, and new cuffs were added. The leather was treated with a
darkening dye, which is very common among russet jackets. Note how well the lining was replaced - careful attention was given to the
collar stand and other details. In the lining, where the label would be, is a stamp with this information: Jacket, Flight, Type A-2, Size 42.
It's very faint, but can be seen in person. The Crown zipper is original to the jacket, as the male side wasn't removed to replace the lining.
