About This Jacket:

This is an original Perry contract A-2, and it's been rebuilt by Eastman. The jacket fits like a size 40, and the leather has been oversprayed in seal brown at some point, as is often the case with jackets that were re-issued. The leather is very solid, though the sleeve tops and collar leather have been replaced - it's a little hard to tell. The lining and knits are extremely well done, with the original stenciled name of the owner preserved and sewn on the new lining. The nametag is an Eastman version, but with the original owner's name. The Conmar zipper has persevered. The vet was a bombardier on a B-24, and was assigned to the 733rd BS 453 BG stationed in England. As of a year ago he was still alive and the previous owner discussed with him this jacket - it appears this was his second A-2. He wanted another one and purchased this for $20 from another aircrewman. He did a lot of his basic training at bases in California like March AAFB, and his Ops officer at one time was Jimmy Stewart.
