About This Jacket:
This is a David D. Doniger-made A-2 that has no maker's name on the label. The contract dates to
before the US entered WWII when it seems several makers weren't adding the name to the labels. This particular contract is extremely rare. The
jacket is in fantastic condition and comes with info from the man who flew with it. It's made of goatskin, which has been re-dyed at some point
after WWII, and a USAF shoulder stencil was added over it. The lining stencil states 'U.S. Air Force', so it must have been re-dyed at some
point after 1947, maybe for the Korean War. Note the unique construction features that are classic Doniger in design, such as the extreme
point on the collar tips, inset sleeves, and body seam underneath the epaulettes. As a size 44, it's about average compared to other makers'
44s, though the body is quite long.
