About This Jacket:
This overcoat was made for USN personnel and may have been for general use on Naval
ships. The jacket is similar to a USN N-1 deck jacket but only much larger. The shell is of the same material, as is the Alpaca lining. The contract may
date to some time in the 1950s but I'm not completely sure. The jacket is quite large and would help for use on the bridge of a ship in
rough weather. Note the standard USN stencil on the chest. It was typical in this period that standard USN jackets didn't have the maker's
name included on the label.
