About This Jacket:
This is a great example of an Aircraft Transport coat that the Navy issued to some aircrews from
1940 through the end of WWII. These jackets were often seen in use in Anti-Submarine operations based in England. This jacket is
extremely well made (an Edmund Church hallmark) and is in lightly used condition. For a size 38, it's rather large. The M-69F has
some features in common with the M-422a, a jacket made in the same period (1940-1943). The leather is vegetable-tanned goatskin
and quite heavy, and the lower half of the lining has Alpaca. Note the upper lining, which is of brown material, which Church is known
for. Other makers would use a salmon colored material.
