About This Jacket:
This is a well used example of a Gordon & Ferguson M-422a, which is still in quite nice
condition. The leather is quite heavy in comparison to some Navy jackets, and it has great color, with some staining. In comparison
to other G&F M-422a jackets, look at how the back leather panels are sewn over the front at the seams, unlike most G&F jackets and
in line with almost all other makers. The lining
may have been this reddish, but it has much more yellow that one would commonly see on a G&F jacket. The knits are all OK
with some small holes, and on the zipper puller leather thong, the owner has placed a single Chinese coin. The stitch holes and
practice of adding the coin may have been from the Korean War era.
