About This Jacket:
This jacket is a massive WWII M-422a by Fried, Osterman - a company based in Milwaukie, WI.
They operated from 1934 to 1952. The jacket has the dimensions of a size 48 jacket, though the size tag is missing. The sleeves are over
30' long - more than most even of this size. The condition of the jacket is great, considering it's age. The leather is very heavy, soft, and
solid, and the finish shows wear but is solid. The mouton has parts missing, but appears to be stable. The lining is in great shape considering
most Ostermanns I've seen have weak linings. The knits show moth holes, but not so much to be replaced. The details of Ostermann jackets
are a waistband folded like an A-2 waistband with two sizes of weave, smaller shoulders, a unique wind flap, and a back belt that has an extra
line of stitching. The USN stencil is in black, and the USN perforation is from after production.
