This Ralph Edwards jacket is a pristine example of a MIL-J-7823B contract. The jacket's details are consistent with the B series, which include a thick lining, large pockets, the first contract having silver thread in the label, a fully brass black painted Conmar zipper, long cuffs, and thick reddish mouton. The leather is somewhat thin, but of great character. Note that the USN perforation is vertical.
