This AN-J-3A jackets began production in 1943, and lasted through the war. The jackets are quite similar to the M-422A and
AN-6552 designs. The number of jackets made in this period is significantly smaller than the series of AN-6552 jackets, as maybe
the Navy knew that there wouldn't be as high a need for jackets with the earlier ones made. Therefore, these are quite hard to find. There
were a good number of makers, and I've only got images of one contract.
