About These Boots:
These paratrooper jump boots were issued to my father in the army in 1955. They most likely date
to WWII or just after, as the color is russet brown, where the official color at the time was black.
They're in great shape for their age and usage,
and the only part that's not original are the laces and the heels, which were replaced (they would have an angle at the front if original). The
technical data printed inside is difficult to read, but at least there's a label in the tongue. The sole has 'Light Tread' embossed on it.
These
boots are extremely smooth on the bottom and are quite slippery on flat surfaces, as I tried them in the snow and had a hard time
balancing. |
