About This Jacket:
Isratex, of Brooklyn, NY, has made a large number of Nomex garments for the U.S. military, and due to the very
low quality of these garments, the military rejected them, and also suffered from a massive amount of missing shipments. The main
executives of Isratex have left the country. This jacket is one that's still well made, and seems to have held together with a large
amount of wear. For a size 46-48, it fits more on the side of 48, and is larger than other CWU jackets I've seen of this same size.
The CWU series replaced the MA-1 and L-2B as garments which are fire-resistant, a big improvement over nylon. The design includes
larger pockets and a collar, and earlier versions had a bi-swing back.
