About This Jacket:
This jacket is a great example of an aircrewman's B-6 Intermediate Zone flight jacket. The
condition is quite solid for a sheepskin jacket, and the only non-original part is the Prentice zipper, which dates to the Korean War,
as they were used on Gardner's B-15B flight jackets. The size is very small, and there's an interesting tag which states NEWCO
'Neva Moth' PROCESSED and patent info, which is sewn under the main label. Notice that this Aero has leather trim which
matches the sheepskin's color. The trim would have been of a russet color, but this jacket was refurbished at some point
and an overspray was used on the outside of the jacket, so everything is of a uniform color. The hanger strap above the label was left untouched,
and shows how the rest of the russet would look. |
