The jacket is in brand new condition, and is made with a capeskin that is gorgeous, and which ages with fantastic surface wear. The jacket was meant for a customer, but a larger size was needed, and this one was put in storage. We made it before we owned a button hole machine, so the button holes that were applied with a button hole machine didn't finish as we would have liked. The stitching didn't catch on some sections of the holes, and we applied a zig-zag stitch over four of the five holes on the front panel. They are all secure and will work just fine. The pocket button holes look superb. The knits are an older version that we had back in 2008, and the lining is a basic rust-shade of cotton. The main buttons are horn, and the backing buttons are bone. The jacket fits as a slender size 42, more of a 40 X-Long, as it was custom-shaped. The pockets are a design that we like (and have seen in several period photos of A-1 jackets). The image in the link below shwos how this leather looks after some regular use. We had access to enough of this leather for about eight jackets, and it came from a leather reseller, who did not know the tannery that it came from. We wish we could purchase more if it, but it's no longer available.
