This jacket was made four years ago, and it shows how beautiful some batches or hides from the famed Shinki tannery in Japan will look after regular wear to a jacket. This is our standard russet, and after a lot of regular use, the wear and wrinkles, along with natural grain, have really pushed this jacket into the realm of looking like a well used original.

Most of the Rough Wear W535-AC-27752 original were made with russet-finished leather, though some were certainly done in seal brown, too. Both are accurate. Originals were also made by humans, with a very human touch, and we emulate that on special models of our jackets, which we call the "Combat Clone" series. There are two typical components. First, sewing with a human touch of imperfection, and second, aging the leather. With this jacket, we didn't age the leather, but you can see a human touch to how the jacket is constructed.

The jacket has a Crown zipper with straight teeth. There were a very small number of original 27752 jackets made using these zippers, and we owned one recently. That jacket can be seen here. The jacket that we made has a vintage Crown slider and bottom stopper, and repruduction cotton tape with nickel teeth. The jacket has a new set of knits installed, with our new knit maker. The knits originally used in 2022 were not as good, and had lost some tension. These knits are so much better.

The pocket snaps are vintage United-Carr Azno units, and one can see a little green verdigris developing on the edges of the male half. This is exactly what one sees on originals through age and wear.

A jacket like this will get comments from those who know what A-2 jackets are. As in, "Please wear that jacket carefully, as it's a WWII original." This is a common situation with "Combat Clone" Good Wear jackets. This jacket was owned by one customer.

The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'1", with a chest of 41" to 43", and a weight of about 180-205 pounds. The jacket is shown with a wearer who is 6 feet tall, 175 pounds with a 41.5" chest.
