During 1940, the Air Corps approved the use of cowhide in Type A-2 jackets, and this jacket is made with seal brown cowhide. It's a heavy but very soft and comfortable cowhide. The jacket is lightly used, with about two hours of wear in it. The patches are reproductions, with the American Volunteer Group patch being by Sean Collins, and the other by Flight Suits (and we aged both). The zipper is a reproduction Talon with a used vintage Talon slider. The snaps in the pockets are vintage United-Carr originals as well. The collar is facing up a little in the back in the worn photos, but it does sit flat (our fault in these images).
