This jacket is a cool vintage black motorcycle jacket branded as a Beck 999. We believe Beck jackets were made by Schott, but we aren't
experts with the history of Beck products. This jacket is in very solid condition, is wearable with ease, and it would look great
if worn by someone in the right size. John is a bit too tall or long-armed for this particular jacket. It's been in the collection for
years, and though cool, we aren't going to copy this exact design, as our focus is on earlier makes.
The leather may be horsehide or cowhide, but we're not sure which. It would seem cowhide is the more logical determination, but no
one would really know wihtout a label stating what it is. It's in great condition, with no damaged areas or signs of harsh wear.
The lining is wonderful, too, clean and with only a few tiny places with missing stitching to the quilting. The label is one of our
productions, applied as the original label was removed. This jacket would have had this exact label applied when new.
All the metal parts are in excellent working order and original to the jacket. When purchasing a jacket like this in the 1960s, an
optional collar or belt could be bought along with it, and this jacket didn't come to use with either.
The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'9" to 6'0", with a chest of 39" to 41", and a weight of about 160-180 pounds.
