This is a new jacket, and was returned for a smaller size. The jacket was only tried
on by the customer and John for the photo session. This is made with a beautiful aniline
finish veg-tanned horsehide, with the correct russet shade.
Monarch A-2 jackets were made using a blackened brass M-41 Talon zipper. This jacket has
a reproduction Talon that has a vintage stopper and slider. The stopper is painted brown,
as originals were, and the slider is blackened.
The Monarch pattern is comfortable, and has a sharp design, with square shoulders. We took
apart a size 42 for our pattern, and there are many detail of the Monarch pattern that are
unique compared with other makers' common traits. We copies these details in our Monarch
A-2 jacket.
The jacket fits for a vintage size 46, and would ideally fit someone in the range
of 5'11" to 6'2" with a chest of 43-45, and a weight of about 195-210 pounds.
