This jacket is an extremely rare product of the well-known Security Sportswear company of Chicago. We know of their Security Aviation Togs
type A-2 flying jackets, one of the earliest made, but they had another division called Security Golf Togs. This jacket isn't a golfing
jacket, but they seem to have reasoned that a hunting jacket would be best served with their golf marking.

It's not a particularly valuable jacket, especially to the historic flying enthusiast, but it is rare and from a unique company which we don't
know very much about. They seem to have only operated for a short period of time, and in an era where companies would have multiple
military contracts, they only had the one A-2 order. They did make other garments for the military, though. They're also the only known
company to be allowed to have their own civilian label applied to a military product, along with a military label.

Of interest, we've found Army contract information going as far as 1949, but also as seen below, Security Sportswear may have had a
relationship with J. Laskin & Sons, Inc., of New York. This was a very powerful fur company, which made sheepskin for the military,
and fur used in fur coats for decades. The image below is from a 1930 "Fairchild's Men's Wear Directory of Chicago."

This jacket is in solid condition, but certainly not perfect. It has an odd feature we've seen on other hunting jackets...the check pattern was
not cut straight with the body panels, on either side of the fronts. The back is cut slightly off true as well. These must have been made quickly
and without much worry as to accurate cutting with patterns in the fabric.

The pockets all work as they should, and the back compartment where a kill would be stored is missing a percentage of the coating which
it originally had, but we're going to guess that no one would travel with a freshly killed rabbit or duck, anyway. This jacket is far
more of value as a historic object than a work object. We bought it years ago, just to have the label for reference.

As for the fit, it's quite big, and almost akin to a heavier person's garment. The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'9"
to 6', with a chest of 42" to 46", and a weight of about 195-215 pounds. The jacket is shown with a wearer who is 6 feet tall with a
41.5" chest, and it has an oversized fit.
