The jacket is in used condition, but is ready for many more years of wear. The horsehide is in great condition, though each panel has different levels of color-wear from use. This color can be evened out with conditioner. The jacket is comfortable for as size 40, and some who could wear a size 42 with shorter arms may like the fit as well. The lining was replaced at some point, and this was well done. The lining has some soiling at the neck, but is otherwise in rock-solid condition. The stitching has held up very well throughout. Note that French seams were used on most of the jacket, and that's a nice touch. The Conmar zipper works great, but has a 1/2" tear at the insertion pin. This doesn't hinder using the zipper, but if carefully closed, the zipper works great. This can be replaced, but we think this isn't necessary at this point. This jacket would appear to date to after WWII, and though it was used by someone, they certainly took good care of it.
