The jacket is a copy of a very rare 1937 H.L.B. Corp. Type A-2, based on an original in our collection that was made later for the civilian market in 1941. The horsehide is a little bit thinner than Shinki, and softer. The finish is semi-aniline, and the shade is a dark russet tone. This horsehide isn't typically in stock for us, but we have used a small portion for this test jacket. This horsehide shows creases, grain, small scars and will become even more grainy as the jacket is used. HLB jackets are extremely rare, and extremely unique in their design. The photos will show the difference with other typical A-2s of the era. Note that there is no top stitching of the leather above the cuffs or waistband. The United Carr snaps are NOS originals. Original jackets of this small contract would have most likely been all Kwik No.8 zippers, but without further originals to observe, it's hard to tell. We have used a reproduction of a typical Talon of that period with the Waldes name on it. The jacket is only lightly used, and will be very comfortable from the start. This jacket will ideally fit a person who is 5'11" to 6'2", with a chest circumference of 43-44", and weight of 190-210 pounds.
