We have copied the J.A. Dubow 27798 pattern down to the tiniest detail, and this jacket will be the web site model in a few days. The jacket was made to show the new Dubow dull purple knits that we've just had made. We were previously hand-dying Dubow knits to get the exact dull shade of purple, but we now have a knitting mill that does a superb job with wool knits of several colors, including Dubow's iconic dull purple. The jacket has about ten hours of wear in it, and only the leather shows mild creasing.

We have had oppurtunity to handle many Dubow original jackets, and in the case of our pattern, it was derived from one original that we took apart. It was in rough condition, but each panel of leather was solid enough to make a superb pattern. We have several others in our collection. There are many nuances of detail in the Dubow pattern, and we have correctly copied them. The shape of the collar, how it is folded, the shape of the pockets, the exact method of installing the zipper, and the circular snap leather re-enforcement are properly copied in a Good Wear Dubow.

We have used vintage United Carr snaps in the pockets. They are from WWII, in brand new condition, and were installed with the original dies and press set from the factory. We offer them on customer jackets while stock lasts. 		« Return
