This jacket is a return. It's a generous size Large, so someone about the same size as John, or a little bigger, would fit this well.
The jacket is new, having only been tried on, and then worn for the photo shoot. We found a very rare original Knopf D-1 back
in 2010 and made a pattern from it. Our label maker did a superb job copying the original label, and this particular original had
a FALO sheepskin treatment label. We've seen this label in several vintage WWII jackets, and other labels as well.
The sheepskin is from an American tannery, and is excellent. Over time, lots of natural grain and creasing will pop. The hides have good weight,
too, so the jacket feels heavy. The pile length is historically correct 3/8".
The leather trim is dark russet cowhide. We've used both horsehide and cowhide, and either work very well as the tape over the seams and
other smaller pieces, like the boxes at the bottom of the zipper.
The buckle is an excellent reproduction, and all the Talon zippers are reproductions. They're easy to operate. If someone would wish to
have a shoulder roundel applied, we've just received a new batch, and we could apply one for an extra $10.
The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'2", with a chest of 42" to 44", and a weight of about 190-210 pounds.
