This label is an original, a sample saved from the run when the labels were made for Buco. This is not a reproduction, but came from a massive label book that we bought. This label company (still unknown, as no company name is anywhere in the book) saved one sample of every label they made, and this run of various labels, about 1,000 in this book, appears to have been made at some point in 1948, based on military contract labels.

There's a blog with a little bit of information on a Buco jacket which has this exact label. Knowing that most label makers demand that 1,000 labels be produced, and sometimes 5,000, it would be no surprise to see one format of label used by a company over the span of several years or a decade. The condition of the label is wonderful. Only a little residue of the glue that held the label to the page is present on the back, and that glue was quite weak. One can see a few other labels from the book, along with the number this particular label was ascribed.

Original labels, in unused condition, from companies like Buco are astoundingly difficult to find. This is a rare piece. We also have a white Buco label which denotes the garment being sanforized, which was most likely for trousers.
