The skins we got this time were a little bit lighter in shade than we hoped, and we also tried coloring the skins with our redskin technique. The skins look great, except that some areas are stained a bit darker than the general color tone. Though there are original Aero B-6 redskin jackets like this, it's a little bit outside of what we prefer. We developed our pattern from three oringinals in rough condition that we took apart, in three differnt sizes. The pattern is flattering and feels comfortable. As for how it looks...this jacket was worn out once to an event, and John was stopped about every ten minutes by someone saying how cool the jacket looks. This rarely seems to happen with A-2s or Navy jackets, but this jacket sure did catch the eyes of nearby people. The hides are quite soft, and the natural creasing and grain look very much like a typical WWII B-6 jacket. The buckle is typical of early Aero B-6 originals, as is the back's semi-circle leather placket with a hanger chain. The main zipper is a repro M-42 Talon with vintage Talon slider, and the hip zippers are vintage Talon. The United-Carr snaps were made in 1943.
