This is a test model B-3, and it has the no-name 12690 label. The jacket is big for its size, being more like a wartime size 44-46 (depending
on the maker). It's a very comfortable fit. The sheepskin is a dark seal brown pigment finish, and has very accurate WWII grain. The Shinki horsehide
is wonderful, also having excellent grain. This jacket is warm, heavy, but still comfortable, as these skins aren't as stiff in the leather as
other tanneries we've used before. The hides are from a USA tannery.
Just like the original we copied, it has a Conmar zipper. Note the original WWII buckles. We have a wonderful cache of NOS 1943 United-Carr snaps, and
those are used in this jacket.
The original was quite large for a size 38, and this jacket is only 2" bigger in the chest, but it's massive. We used a size 42R label, but it
fits more like our typical size 44 or 46 (depending on the B-3 maker).
We've gotten a very specific sewing machine to apply the zipper and cuffs to sheepskin jackets, and this makes sewing those so much easier.
The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'11" to 6'3", with a chest of 42" to 44", and a weight of about 185-210 pounds.
