This jacket is a test of a vintage-finish Horween horsehide that we have. This horsehide is seal brown, and has a finish that will show edge-wear relatively fast. The jacket will look aged and like a WWII veteran, where typical leather today takes much longer to show wear. The horsehide is soft, chrome tanned, and somewhat thin, in the range of about 2.2-2.5oz. thickness. This is actually very accurate to WWII A-2 jackets. It will have the same drape and visual effect that so many WWII photographs show.

The coloring of the seal brown finish is also much like WWII jackets. There's a subtle mottled seal brown shade, and the undertones will be a russet color on edges that get worn. We've seen so many A-2s with this finishing effect.

The lining is a superb cotton of mustard shade, accurate for Aero originals, and the snaps are all vintage United-Carr Line 20s, identical to what original Aeros were made with. The zipper, also accurate to this contract, is a nickel Talon with vintage slider and stopper. Aero originals of this contract were made with knits of a strong red color tone, and we have superb knits of identical color.

The lining has an AAF stamp below the label. For some reason, a very slight ink stain is just to the left of it from this ink. A photo shows this.

The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'2" with a chest of 42-44", and a weight of about 185-210 pounds.
