This jacket is a test model created last week of a no-name W535-AC-27753 Type A-2 jacket. The contract was made by Cable Raincoat, and was a horsehide/cowhide contract. At this point in A-2 contracts, cowhide was accepted, and it's too difficult without serious testing to know if originals were horsehide or cowhide. The jacktes made by Cable Raincost are roomy compared with other contractors.

So, the fit of the jacket is quite comfortable, and our Good Wear pattern has been used. The thread is dull green cotton, and it has large black ring snaps, as a very small number of original Cable A-2s had. Once production jackets are ready, they will be done in either nickel or black small ring snaps.

The label is our own 27753 version, and the lining is the correct cotton shade of mustard.

The collar, on one tip, has a line of miss-stitching that was undone and re-sewn correctly. This is on the underside, so it's not very obvious. The jacket is a test model, so not all the sewing would be considered of typical Good Wear quality, but the jacket is rock solid. The production jackets will cost quite a bit more. 		« Return
