This is a very lightly used Buzz Rickson Type A-1 jacket (SKU# BR80413
). It's loosely based on the original seen in
the book "Suit Up! The Flight Jacket", and like that jacket, the sleeves have cut-edge triple-stitching.
The fit is generous for a size 44, and the horsehide is extremely comfortable.
The knits on the jacket have a 1920s style duo-tone shade of contrasting green and brown, with larger
wales vertically. This format of wool weaving is seen on jackets from that period, though original
A-1 jackets would most likely not have such knits. It's a fun detail.
The buttons are easy to set, and the snaps, which are black, are also a breeze. All the button holes and buttons are
solid, with very little use.
The jacket fits a bit large for a size 44, and is more like a vintage size 46. It would ideally fit someone in the range
of 5'11" to 6'2" with a chest of 42-45", and a weight of about 190-210 pounds.
