This jacket was made by Dobbs Industries in 1959. The company would later be called Alpha Industries, a massive military clothing contractor.
The jacket was owned by Dick Rogers, a navigator in the 116th Fighter Squadron, based in Washington state (more here on the unit).
We don't have any information on Mr. Rogers at this time.
The jacket is well worn, and has some wear-related soiling and nitro-fade as seen on many sage green nylon jackets. The shell is solid, but there's a small run
on the wearer's right sleeve around the elbow. The lining is fantastic. The wool/cotton batting is from the era when it was very heavy and thick,
which makes the jacket quite warm. The knits have many holes, but we didn't see a reason to replace them at this point. The zipper works just fine.
The jacket has no odors, other than the smell of the nylon and batting, which is pleasant.
The jacket has somewhat short torso fit, and will look great on a person with these dimensions:
5'09" to 5'11" (175cm to 180.5cm) and have a 43-45" (109.5cm to 114.5cm) chest.
Please let us know your dimensions (height, weight, and chest circumference), and we will know how well this
one should fit.
