Vintage United Carr Snaps
We have recently been able to acquire vintage United Carr snap parts, all from Naval tool kits
that were made in 1941. They include the United Carr snaps seen on so many original Type A-2
jackets, from the Anzo style to the ring snaps.
These snaps are in perfect working order, and not only do we have the snaps, but we have the
original die sets to close them properly, along with the kit's hand press. These are a
wonderful addition to our reproduction jackets.
If you'd like to have these snaps applied to your jacket, just let us know, and we will save
a set that will go into your jacket. These are in limited supply and will no longer
be available once our stock is depleted.
These snaps were developed and used by the Army as early as 1930, and they lasted
through WWII. They are seen on the early A-2s in both pocket and collar, and after 1939,
are only in the pockets. They are truly a work of art.
Price: $30.00 per set of two (one for each pocket)
These large ring snaps are seen on Aero, Poughkeepsie, and AAF sheepskin jackets. These
are very sturdy and easy to use. One can clearly see United Carr impressed into
the socket base, and the backing half of the stud.
Price: $40.00 per four snap sets (enough for one jacket, pockets and collar).
These smaller ring snaps were seen on Bronco, United Sheeplined and some Cable Raincoat A-2s.
They have a very clear United Carr stamp on the back piece of the of the studs.
Price: $40.00 per four snap sets (enough for one jacket, pockets and collar).
We have a very small number of original Rau Ligne 24 stud backing pieces. These would be used
for Type A-1 jackets that have silver snap parts, and brown caps. The other parts are modern, but
these backing pieces are from the 1930s, and would be a perfect addition to one of our A-1 jackets.
We have two different formats of text on these parts, and would match two of the same per jacket.
Price: $20.00 per two snap sets (backing the snaps on the waistband tabs).
This is the original press from the tool kit. All the dies operate with this press.
